This is a full-day intensive workshop that will cover the key principles of Islamic political thought and distinctions with Western thought, and discuss the Caliphate from various angles: definition and legal status as elucidated by classical scholarship, systems - with a focus on ruling and economics, historical progression from establishment, to consolidation, expansion, decline and eventual destruction, as well as the significant question of re-establishment.
